Hey there!
Welcome to the Weekly Wrap-up, a short weekly newsletter where we wrap up our week and
share some of the things we have been doing and what’s on our mind. Feel free to share this or
add to the discussion in the comments section!
One thing we’re Watching
Right now, we are really enjoying the Fallout series on Prime. I (Zach) grew up playing video
games and loved the Fallout games. The show is a great complement to the world created by
the video games, but it is a really fun series to watch even if you haven’t played the games.
Jonathan Nolan and the team of writers have really put together a great series and I would
highly recommend it if you are into sci-fi or post-apocalyptic shows! The series stars Ella
Purnell, Walton Goggins, and Aaron Moten. It is not the most family friendly show out there, but
it’s not too bad, if you want to give it a shot.
Two things we’re Reading
Robbyn – I love to expand my knowledge about traditional eating, so I am rereading “Nourishing Traditions,” Its one of my favorites for ideas on what to feed littles and Momma’s! While this is technically not reading, I have really been enjoying watching Acre Homestead on Youtube! Becky is so fun to watch and the food she cooks is delicious!
Zach – I’m pretty bad about starting multiple books at one time and not finishing them, but right
now I am reading “A Guide to Raising Quail” from Meateater and I’m also reading “Savage
Son”, the 3rd book in the Terminal List series by Jack Carr. Robbyn wants to start raising quail,
so I’m trying to learn a little bit about them before jumping in. “Savage Son” on the other hand is
all about entertainment. I love the Terminal List series and the main character James Reece. I
highly recommend the books if you are into war dramas. There is also a Terminal List series on
Prime, starring Chris Pratt as James Reece, that is really good as well!
Three things we’re Doing
- This week we are planting beans, peas, melons, peppers, and tomatillos in the garden.
- We are doing some work on a chicken coop for the new chicks and then they are leaving
the brooder for good and heading out onto grass with the older girls. - We are also busy cleaning up around the homestead and planting new flowers in the garden beds! (Robbyn’s favorite spring time chore!)
Thanks for spending some of your day with us and as always, feel free to give us feedback in
the comments or social media. What do you want to see more of, or less of in these newsletters?
