Weekly Wrap-up Newsletter

Sharing is caring!

Hey guys!

Welcome to the weekly wrap-up, our weekly newsletter where we wrap up our week and share some of the things that have been on our minds. Feel free to share this with someone you know or add to the discussion in the comment section!

Memorial Day Weekend Plans?

Memorial Day weekend coincides with our oldest son’s birthday, so we spent most of the weekend celebrating him! Saturday we went to the Georgia Aquarium with a bunch of family and we had a great time! Hutt turned 2 this year and he loves fish so this was right up his alley! He LOVED the sharks. After the aquarium we stopped by The Varsity for lunch – it’s not the most amazing food, but it’s a fun little stop in Atlanta – and then we to Ikea with my brother and his family. On Sunday, we had a little birthday party at the house so we could get the boy’s Great-Grandparents over. Robbyn made delicious homemade funfetti cupcakes and we hung out and celebrated Hutty. Finally, today (Memorial Day) we had a family barbeque. What did you get up to this Memorial Day weekend?

Project that we are making progress on

We are steadily moving along on the fence project. We have about 10 more wood posts to set and then we will be finished on that part. This week, we focused on making some good visual progress on the North side of the pasture. All of the wood posts are finished over there, so we hung a gate, and drove in t-posts along that side. All in, we finished up the wood posts and drove in t-posts over about an 1,100′ run, and got a gate hung. Not bad for only being able to work on it an hour or so every day. It is slow going work, but once we figured out what we we’re doing we’ve started making steady progress and I think we will be able to finish up in the next few weeks if we get some good weather!

What we are working on for the blog

We are working hard on getting some new content out for the blog and for Instagram. We want to get articles and posts out to you guys more often! Right now, we are getting close to finshing 3 blog posts – a basic sourdough recipe and how-to guide, a delicious recipe post for a roasted tomato and feta pasta, and a guide to our favorite homestead and simple living books. Life has been really busy latey, and we are still learning how to blog, but we can’t wait to get new content out for you guys!

Thank y’all for spending some time with us today!

As always, feel free to give feedback in the comments section or on social media. Is there anything that you want to see more of? Any recommendations fro future newsletters or posts? Please let us know in the comments section or on Instagram @the_hollyhomestead.

Hope you had a great Memorial Day Weekend!
